It is a well-worn truism that life gets faster and the years go by more quickly but is that really the case? Thinking back on 2013, it seems to have been a long span of time, packed with so much that it would take months to remember it all.

Perhaps the best evidence of all I can muster is the XKCD cartoon called The Pace of Modern Life. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose! The year just gone is still too recent to start thinking of it as history but it has been richly full.
