I was back to rehearsing with the Charnwood Symphonic Wind Orchestra tonight after sporadic attendance for the last month or two due to my involvement with the Legally Blonde musical. We’ve got a number of Christmas gigs coming up (details online) and are now deep into preparations. A lot of the songs cross over with Charnwood Concert Band (who I have kept up with rehearsals for) or are now within my sight-reading ability.

Still one or two tricky ones though, particularly a piece that I’ve only got got written out for tuba (an octave below where I want to see it) and a couple with tricky page turns. A bit more Lilypond work might be in my near future, getting the music set up to be as easy as possible for the shows.
