Given the lack of rain recently, the back garden is still looking remarkably green. Actually it looks greener than the equivalent picture taken from last month although that was taken in the heat of one of the hottest days of the year and this one, although on a hot day, was taken as the garden sat in late afternoon shade from the house.
You can’t trust the colours in a photo too much and even more so one that has been through some post-processing. I haven’t tried to green it up on purpose though, although I think I did push the magenta in the previous picture to make it a more parched-looking.
Past the overall tone, the other thing that strikes me is our late summer flowers. The Echinacea (bottom centre) was already showing but is stronger this month, the Rudbeckia (left side) is much stronger and we’ve got some hollyhocks showing down by the gate.
