This week seems to be mainly food-related posts. Fair enough I suppose – it is a theme that takes up some of my attention almost every day!
Doing some grocery shopping in Lidl, I spotted that they had silicon liners for air fryers back in stock. I’ve been in two minds about these. Some argue that the heat resistant silicon works against the air circulation that is a key part of air fryer cooking. On the other hand, the heat blows down from above so, for anything that you’d cook without the inserts or without them uncovered, perhaps it doesn’t make so much difference.
I bought a couple and they were a good call for a couple of the bits I cooked for dinner – roasted squash in one and cabbage with chorizo in the other. I’m now just finishing off some bread rolls, which have worked well on parchment paper on the inserts but, if they do the job here, it will save time and materials in the long term.
