Ideally, I try to get my tomato plants off to a start sometime in early February. The astute will notice that this now lies several weeks in the past but I have finally got round to getting the seeds into pots. This year, I’ve managed to get a collection of square pots to fill my indoor propagator and I’ve gone for four seeds a pot. Assuming I get some level of germination, I’ll do an early thinning to keep the best specimens; it is a bit late but I only need a few to establish and it doesn’t matter if they run on quite late in the season in the polytunnel.
