Quiche gets a bit of a bad name. It turns up at lots of parties but is normally on the bland side; food to fill the table (and the stomach) but not to excite anything except a bit of light-hearted scorn. It doesn’t have to be the case though.
Yesterday, Jane and I were helping at my sister-in-law’s party. When we went to get the quiche out of the fridge to take across to the venue, we discovered that it wasn’t a set of supermarket disks but three large trays that had been cooked by a local supplier. Furthermore, it turned out to be delicious, well-cooked and full of flavour.
I feel quite rehabilitated (and there were some leftovers to take home, so quiche for lunch today and again tomorrow to finish it off).
