I’ve not done much in the way of open mic sessions for a while but tonight Jane and I are planning to go along the inauguration of a new one at St Francis on Hollow Way. According to the Facebook page, boardgames, soup and cookies are also on offer.

I’m not sure how boardgames will work out alongside performances. I love boardgames but my tastes run to the kind with fancy boards and pieces and which often require conversation to figure out the application of the rules (as opposed to, say, chess, which tends to be more black and white). We’ll give it a shot though – I just need to figure out what instrument to take and what songs I might want to perform. I’d better get a move on, too, as the evening has an early time slot from 7-9pm.
