We have two oversized plum trees in the back garden. They are relatively healthy but have been left to get far too tall. This morning I played at being a tree monkey, perched up in the branches and sawing off other branches. There is still more to be done and, if the trees don’t die, there is still every chance they will sulk and not produce anything this year. However, at least this will give them a better chance of being usefully fruitful in future.
