It has taken a long time for me to finish publishing my pictures from August 2008. I’ve decided to pick the final one, uploaded this morning, as my favourite picture from the month.

It is one of a set of fiery wallpaper images I captured on the same evening. We had a barbecue and used the hot coals to incinerate some garden waste. I experimented with slow shutter speeds and moving the camera, and got some impressive results. I decided to crop them all to a 4:3 ratio and intensify the colours to make a set of desktop wallpapers.

By the way, things will be quiet here for a few days: I’m on leave this week and, as part of having a rest, will have a few days off from blogging. Expect more photos when I return!
