Early in January I looked back at all the pictures I took in 2006 and picked a favourite image from every month. That was in order to narrow down the choice of a favourite for the year, a common meme on many of the photography-related sites I have been visiting.

This year, I want to keep on top of the monthly selection so that the task at the end of the year isn’t too daunting. I have finally finished uploading pictures from January 2007 to my Flickr account. With almost 150 pictures in the public section of my account, I definitely need to keep on top of the task.

I was surprised to remember just how many different things I tried photographing during the month. I think my favourite is this picture of swirling incense, although it was hard to choose just one from the set.

t was a difficult choice; my personal challenge now is to make things just as hard for myself when looking back to February’s photos.
