I took a lot of pictures in July, many of them while re-walking the last 100 miles of the Camino de Santiago. I was tempted to include one of those pictures because that week was probably the high point of my year. However, I have already blogged extensively about the experience and didn’t want to pick a picture just because of the memories it held for me.
One of the pictures that attracted most interest from my July output was the one shown, of a dragonfly that toured our garden. It took several attempts but I ended up with a pleasing close-up picture as it perched on one of our plant supports.
I would rather have had a different background (or a different coloured dragonfly). However, that was the image that came out most clearly. In order to make it clearer, I blurred the background, while making the dragonfly and his perch a little sharper. All in all, a satisfactory recording of our unexpected visitor.
