Recently, I’ve seen several blogging friends (specifically Paul and Steve) commend the BBC’s latest natural history tour de force, Planet Earth. I finally caught an episode, about deserts, on Sunday evening and was suitably impressed.

If I did have a TV, this is the kind of thing I’d watch, along with cookery programmes, detective stories, science fiction, historical documentaries….

Ah, yes, where would I get the time. That’s the reason my front room is one of the few in the country not to be decorated with a goggle-box in the corner!
