Tomorrow is my first shift doing casual work Loughborough University’s IT team. It is supporting their Windows 11 migration project, so probably mainly sitting in a room full of computers keeping an eye on them as they get upgraded. However, I suspect the procedure is a little more detailed than “fire up the upgrade and hope for the best” so I will make sure I pay full attention at the briefing. My experience so far, on home computers, suggests that it is a fairly reliable process although you do have to watch for drivers that aren’t supported. I suspect though that the scale of a university-wide project means other quirks have surfaced and will continue to do so.
