I’ve bottled my second cider batch today, almost a month after I started it going. It got down to 0.996 (from 1.040) which indicates an ABV of about 5.78%. That’s a little less alcoholic than my previous batch and I’ll be interested to see what it tastes like after a few weeks in the bottle.

We used some of the first batch today: a little for dinner and a little with dinner. Jane mixed hers with some sparkling water and, on tasting it, I found that worked rather well given it was a fairly strong brew. Number three is probably ready too so I’ll have another gravity reading to calculate in the next few days.
