Earlier this week, we took a trip to Elton Hall, near Peterborough. It has a decent little garden with free entry for RHS members on Wednesdays and Thursdays although, candidly, it probably isn’t worth the journey for a repeat visit (at about a 100 mile round trip). If you are somewhere closer though, worth a visit. We would love to have it on our doorstep!

Our trip took us via the ASDA at Thurmaston, which advertised a petrol price about 20p a litre cheaper than what we paid most recently. Petrol prices have been falling across the board but this was a significant further drop compared to the best stations we know in Loughborough. Probably not worth driving over there just to fill up but it probably did pay for the extended trip to Elton Hall.
