For contrast (and comparison) with yesterday’s photo, this one was a bit of an accident:

I wasn’t trying to capture a close up of the pallet wood bench in the back garden. In fact, I was trying to figure out how to climb up on the wall behind it to capture the light hitting the Red Robin bush (Photinia x fraserii) and, by the time I’d done that, the light had changed and I’d missed my chance.

However, there was something about this accidental photo, taken when the iPad was placed down to free my hands, that caught my eye: muted colours, strong lines and stark contrast between detail and softness. In the end, I threw away the shot I was trying to take and kept the happy accident.
