Yesterday evening was my first experience of hearing a ‘clarinet choir’. Blackwood Clarinets are an ensemble who feature not just the regular Bb clarinet but a whole host of other sizes from the higher Eb clarinet down to the floor-rumbling contra-bass clarinet. Together they produce some wonderful sounds and we enjoyed the concert, held at St Mary’s church in Hinckley, which also featured some pieces on the church organ and some with clarinets and organ together.
I did a little bit of drawing during the event, with this digital painting in the first half and a few pen and ink sketches (not yet scanned in) after the interval.
