I’ve got two back to back performances tonight in the church hall. We’ve got a visiting bishop for the weekend and we’re going to offer him some figurative ‘hot potato’ questions to juggle but first we’re providing a hot potato based meal. While people are eating, I’ll be playing double bass with a jazz trio to add an air of sophistication. Straight after, I’ll switch basses and modes, playing my Jaguar electric bass and encouraging a bit of audience participation with a set that centres around gospel blues numbers like ‘This Little Light of Mine’.

Free entry in the ASTAD church hall with music and food from 6:30pm.
