In a little under an hour, I’ll get to meet Martyn Snow, Bishop of Leicester, for the first time. What will be the occasion? Well, occasions (plural) in fact. Thorpe Acre church (ASTAD) is hosting a weekend with the bishop and a small team, called Big Conversations. Over the course of the weekend, there will be an opportunity for plenty of people to meet with the bishop and the aim is to create an opportunity for people to think and discuss important things around life and faith.

The first event is a visit to the Thorpe Acre Community Association’s regular coffee morning, which happens in our church hall (10-12 every Friday) and there is more to follow. Tomorrow evening, I get to play music with two different combos at our ‘hot potatoes’ evening (free entry, including food and music!) but I’ll probably post more about that that tomorrow. There’s plenty more going on, including our Chat Café event tomorrow morning and an open service on Sunday morning.

I’d better go and have breakfast!
