Today saw the first rehearsal for Thorpe Acre Church’s Christmas choir, aiming to support the carol service on 22 December (6:30pm). I’d whittled my selection of initial pieces down to three and it felt a bit nerve wracking in the lead up; I’m not an expert choir master compared to some I’ve had the pleasure of working with in the past.
However, it turned out to be a decent sized group with a good mix of experience and enthusiasm. In the end, we only worked on one of the pieces (a ‘Magnificat’ canon from Taize) but we made some progress and I hope everyone came away encouraged. I certainly did and I’m looking forward to next week.
