That is a sketch I did, with my water-soluble graphite pencils, during one of the pieces I wasn’t playing for at the Music for a Summer Evening event at St Nicholas, Old Marston last month.

I’m loving these pencils. Combined with a brush and a bit of water, I can easily add tonal values to a sketch but with a softer feel than pen-based sketches. A good investment, I think.
