On the way back from Devon today, we stopped for lunch at a National Trust site called Sutton Lane Meadows. This is billed as a “delightful wildflower meadow” but, even in the above average temperatures we are enjoying this February, at the moment it just looks like a few grassy fields. Still peaceful and not a bad little stroll (although nowhere to sit) but not particularly special. Orchids should be out by May though, so perhaps worth a revisit at a different time of year.
Speaking of May, I see that the temperature our car suggested we reached today – 17°C – is regarded as the average high temperature for May while the average for February is a mere 8°C!
