I’d expected today to be pretty manic at work. After all, all hands were assigned to ‘Alpha shift’ (first port of call for dealing with reported incidents), when we normally take turns for two of us to fulfil that role. However, thanks in part to colleagues who had done a little monitoring over the break, there really wasn’t much to handle and nothing particularly outside the routine.
Mind you, it was also remarkably quiet on the roads. Schools and many workers aren’t back yet so that manic day at work may still be come as staff and students return and start opening up all the phishing and malware links that may have made it into their inboxes and so forth. Still, I won’t complain about having had an easy start to the working year.
