Today was (relatively) sunny and warm so I decided to have a go at painting en plein air, a French term which simply means painting outdoors. I took a small set of watercolour pans with an integrated mixing palette and small brush. I have to admit that it still feels a lot like hard work – easier than tube paints but still much more fiddly than a studio setting.
It probably means I need to think a bit more about my equipment and do a lot more practice. Not my favourite painting practice at the moment but summer is a coming in.
