I’ve been watching some films based on strips from 2000AD (a comic that once sounded so futuristic). First there was a fan film based on Jonny Alpha, the Strontium Dog, which I picked up from Ars Technica. Then I saw Dredd (2012). It wasn’t the first attempt to portray the Judge Dredd character on the big screen (Stallone got there first in 1995) but probably did it better with respect to the original stories.

Both are as confusing and violent as the comic strips they are based on; good for fans but definitely not for everyone’s tastes.
