Breath of Fresh Air

Last night’s gig went brilliantly. The String Project put on a cracking show (and it was great to have Pieman guesting back with us for a night) and the performance poetry was fascinating. My particular highlight though was listening to Louise Elliot, who wove improvised tenor sax and flute lines in with the poetry. I get to play with a lot of sax players, including some who are extremely good but I found Louise’s playing breath-taking.

Or breath-giving? What is an appropriate turn of phrase for something so beautifully inspiring? Fantastic whatever the word should be!
