Last week we finally ticked the box on a long-outstanding home maintenance job when we had decorators round to paint the outside of the house. Originally it was a pale cream colour – approaching dirty cream even by the time we moved in – but we’ve gone for a subtle green (Tuscan Glade 5 from the Dulux range). The picture is a little underexposed but gives a sense of the colour that would probably be lost if I pushed the lighting harder.
I think almost any colour would look impressive when fresh but I’m pleased with this one and think it will weather well. The front of the house is finished in brick so only the side and back are painted and the wall shown here acts as a face onto the garden, where it complements the many greens found there.
