At work we have a row of partially covered cycle racks. When I pull up, I turn my bike around so the handlebars are pointing out. The main thing this accomplishes is that the drive train — pedals, cogs and chain — is more protected from the weather.
How come then that, almost every other person seems to park their bike the opposite way round, with the handle bars in? Perhaps there is some logic which eludes me, or perhaps I should just revel in being unique?
