Rather than spending the day at work figuring out the intricacies of web and database programming I will be spending the next two days over in the departments Botnar Research Centre as a student on a course about statistics for bioscience and clinical research. I enjoyed our lead statistician’s talk at the recent student induction day (when I was there to talk to them about IT provision) and decided that it would help the work I do in supporting research projects to get a better understanding of the statistical angle of things.

So, armed with enthusiasm and a freshly installed copy of R, it is back to school today!
