Since getting my new phone, towards the end of June, most of the photos I have taken have been with the camera phone. I can’t get results that match the quality of my DSLR but I can carry it with me everywhere I go. Particularly for shots of things growing in my garden (the main subject I have been documenting in recent months), convenience wins out.
I must not become too lazy though. Taking Thursday’s shot of my first ripe tomato of the year reminded me of the pleasure of using a more sophisticated tool for a finer-quality result. There is a time to capture the moment but still a time to to savour the moment, too.
