We had a day off today and had intended not to spend it all in the garden. Never mind — at least we got a lot done out there!

Various plants were given homes outside, potted up or moved to the coldframe. However, the main labour was creating a bed inside the polytunnel where we can plant our tomatoes and aubergines. The soil has been dug, sifted and enriched and the bed has been given a tidy edging as well as a good soak; we will start planting it up later this week once it has had a little time to settle.
