I watched another of Lassgård’s depictions of Wallander last night, One Step Behind (now gone from the iPlayer site — you have just a few more hours to catch the one I watched earlier this week). Again, it was very impressive, particularly the cinematography used to convey memories of his murdered colleague.

From looking at Lassgård’s profile on IMDB, I see that he has played Wallander a number of other times as well, stretching back into the mid-90s and including a version of The White Lioness, which I understood the BBC avoided as “too difficult” to do justice to within their budget. I will certainly be keeping my eyes out for them.
