I saw an interesting piece from Charles Stross the other day exploring the theory that obesity may be a disease. As he says, it is not yet a widely accepted theory but does have some support. If it turns out to be correct, even if not in all cases, it would have to radically change the way we think about the problem.

Regardless, overeating will still remain a viable way to put on too much weight… which I will remind myself of this evening as I join colleagues for the first of this year’s round of Christmas meals!
