Yesterday’s recording session with Magnus went well and we got a couple of tracks done – “Automacar Blues (Oxford Version)” and “Rainy Day in May”. You can hear them via the widget below:

I was reminded how much I don’t know (or have forgotten) about the software we were using, Ardour. For example, we played in our electric instruments through my BassPod XT and I think we would have saved some time if we had started off monitoring them by feeding the spare output signal from the Pod to my amp. As it was, we initially were listening via the same system that was playing back the other tracks and the latency (gap between hitting a note and hearing it) was making it very hard to keep time!

I will have to try not to leave it so long before I use the system again!
