Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Or is this Wulf, playing around with a new toy on his camera?
Truth be told, it could probably be described as an admixture of both the first two parts (real photo strongly reminiscent of the dream of Queen’s iconic Bohemian Rhapsody) with the results of playing with the Lensbaby 2.0 that turned up on Wednesday. This is a plastic contraption with two lenses connected by a short bendy tube. Focusing is done by compressing the tube and the result is often funky and unlike anything that could be achieved with the standard fixed lens mechanisms.
In the picture above, you can see that my glasses are sharp at the bottom and softer at the top even though they sit in the same plane of distance from the camera. Selective focus draws attention to the centre of the face and the darkness of the eyes. It was taken as a quick test of lighting and focus but I was pleased with the result and so it stands as the most recent addition to my fiftytwo project.
