I think this is probably the first contribution to my fiftytwo set that has been taken using the auto mode of my camera. Most of them have been taken with my collection of cheap old lenses that won’t even work in auto mode and it is not a setting I have used much since the first few days of upgrading to a DSLR (the whole point of that move, of course, being to be able to take more control over the images I captured).

The reason for reverting here was that I was experimenting for the assignment that is due the week after next on the Digital Photography School forums, where the challenge will be to take an excellent picture using only the auto mode of your camera. It’s not my favourite shot… but it’s auto all the way.
