I managed to cook three things yesterday: some bread, a roast dinner and my fingers.
The fingers weren’t intentional but came from trying to juggle hot pans as I sought to co-ordinate the last touches on the roast with cooking the bread in the same, already hot oven (energy efficiency!). In truth, the damage is minor – just small burns on the sides of two of my fingers – but it is a reminder of how close we live to potential disaster.
So, fingers fortunately underdone and at least the roast and the bread both turned out well!
