All the nations of the world have flags and none of them have chosen to go with a simple, chic, black and white design. The colours often have as much symbolism about them as the other elements of the design, the patterns and motifs. However, how many flags would you recognise by colour alone?
That is what Shahee Ilyas presents on his website. Taking information on flags from online resources, a script analyses each one and breaks it down into a pie chart of the constituent colours. Take a look at Flags by Colours and see how many you can identify without clicking to reveal the answer.
However, I am left with one question – why did no-one pick purple when they were looking for inspiration? (see the combined chart at the end of the page).
