Bank holiday Mondays are notorious for rain but Easter ones broke the rule despite April’s reputation for showers.
However, I am pleased to report that the May Day bank holiday (the first Monday in May in the UK) delivered some heavy showers round about lunchtime. This is the first proper rain we have seen for over a month so no complaints from this gardener!
For those who worried about it raining on their parade, the afternoon cleared up to glorious sunshine, the plants sparkling after their wash. I do not see any reason for grumbling about the weather; this bank holiday delivered a perfect combination and more days like it would be welcome.
