The two litre bottles that fizzy drinks such as coke and lemonade are often sold in are very handy in the garden. They will work well as miniature cloches, we have plastic spikes that will turn them into slow watering devices and they can be lashed to frames to provide suspended growing areas (my friends at Selfsufficientish would be proud of me).
The problem is that that neither Jane nor I are very keen on the typical contents and our stock left over from last year’s gardening is now very small.
Therefore, this is a message for any local people who like their fizzy pop – please, give us your rubbish! I have also put a message on the local Freecycle group and hope that our needs will be met ready for planting out my basil seedlings in the high-rise arrangement I have planned.
