This picture is a warning about why you should never put me near a distortion effect for my bass. I mean, look at that string bend!
It is a shot from last Sunday afternoon’s ‘Teeth gig over at the FaB Club in Grays, Essex. We definitely enjoyed ourselves, as you can see from this picture and the others that it links to. Lights, a stage and an appreciative audience: what more could a band want?
A glowing review would be nice and they kindly gave us one of those as well. Resident wordsmith, Liz, wrote:
The end result is a dynamic, distinctive sound with strong lead and solos (and good use of the effects pedal box) from Pete; acoustic rhythm/second lead from Dave; creative bass work (Wulf – just loved that six string), a solid backline from John on drums, and skillful appropriate keyboards from Pico. And their own lyrics have great accessible hooks; Dave is also lead singer and has an easy and emotive voice, with appropriate harmonies from Wulf and Pete.
It was a performance that we can feel justly proud off, bass solos and all, and a great platform for our debut at Mama K’s in Croydon this Friday night (all welcome). Many thanks to Claudine (of NFW-Productions) for inviting us over to Essex and to Adrian van den Heever for the photos).
