After my routine dental check-up on Friday, the dentist suggested that I step up my oral hygiene routine to keep plaque at bay. Having suffered an extensive tooth-cleaning routine at her hands, I was only too keen to comply and gladly took the information sheet she offered me.
Reading it with Jane later, we were stuck by the following sentence:
You don’t have to floss all your teeth – only the ones you want to keep.
I still haven’t figured out if that was a first draft sentence that never got revised to something more formal or if the author had a sense of humour and wanted to reward anyone who actually read the advice! Either way, you can’t get much more direct than that!
