Jane and I popped over to RHS Wisley this morning for a quick visit. Bank holidays provide a good opportunity to get there but my tip is to arrive early: when we left, at about midday, even the overflow carpark was looking pretty full and that was after an inclement morning where patches of sun and blue skies were punctuated with heavy showers.

I managed to get some pictures I was very pleased with. I’m still sorting through them but was particularly happy with the close up shots of the Iris (shown – click for the set), which is pretty much as it came out of the camera, and a rhododendron flower, so bright I had to tone the saturation down just a little to bring out the qualities of the photo.
