We got handed a short piece to play at tonight’s band rehearsal which was sounding rather odd from the bass chair. I figured out that, although it was written in bass clef with two flats, it needed to be read as if it was written in treble clef and landing on a Bb rather than a D. Even knowing that, it is still off-putting so I’ve written it up with Lilypond as a Bb song in the expected bass clef. Much easier!
