The University choir does a couple of concerts a year — one in the summer and one near Christmas. Tonight I popped over to the Cope Auditorium for their Christmas offering.
Part one was a selection from Handel’s Messiah, including a chance to sing along with the Hallelujah Chorus. The choir were also accompanied by a number of instrumentalists from the University orchestra. In the second part, we got Britten’s Ceremony of Carols and Elgar’s The Snow (lyrics by his wife, Alice), with two of the violinists rejoining for the latter part.
A pleasant evening out (a change from rehearsing or performing) and I look forward to seeing what they come up with next.
