Top marks for No. 37 Bistro on South Street in Great Torrington. After a morning exploring the familiar gardens at RHS Rosemoor, we decided to venture into the less familiar streets of the nearby town. Partly by virtue of being advertised as open and not far away from a large car park, we decided to try this place for lunch.

All of our party were delighted with generous portions of good food along with excellent and friendly service. I went for the “ploughmans”, which was an ample meal. It wasn’t quite what I’d call a regular “ploughmans” & I don’t think I’ve had one before that came with two fancy salads rather than a few lettuce leaves & but it was excellent and I’ll not be needing much in the way of dinner tonight. Highly recommended.
