Our tomato plants are now properly tied up to give them support as they continue to grow. Unless you are growing bush varieties, tomatoes have a tendency to grow (hence ‘tomato vines’) and will collapse into a tangled mess without support. The tomato is probably happy enough with that but you don’t get as much fruit.
I tied a long cross line running over the supports I finished in the polytunnel the other day and then Jane went back and tied the individual plants into that. Roll on fruiting!
