Jane and I had an unexpected surprise on our morning exercise stroll today. We took another walk up Beacon Hill, just outside Loughborough. Near the top, we spotted a yellowish bird not too far away. Fortunately Jane had brought her binoculars along and we were able to positively identify it as a female siskin.

No photos as I only I had my iPad with me but I’d rather have enjoyed the moment than messed around trying to get a picture suitably zoomed in through the binoculars.
