Now we’re doing some growing in the garden, we need compost but, at the moment, you can’t just pop out to pick up a bag or two.
This was my woodworking project from yesterday. Our neighbour had some old decking squares at the end of the garden, originally intended for disposal by burning, and let us go in and retrieve them. That gave me the raw materials to knock together a three bin system.
Each one is small but the materials should compress as they settle and decay and we’ll keep moving to the left as the input bin fills up. Will we get usable compost before we’re out of here? I don’t know but there’s more chance by starting now than by leaving it for a few more weeks.
