This morning, my brothers and I were doing some work in my mum’s garden. The main event was taking down a large conifer which had definitely got too big since it first went out 20 or more years ago.

It took a fair amount of time but there is now a lot more light getting through to the top end of the garden (hopefully making the raised bed in that section more productive) and we’ve also left Mum with a good harvest of firewood and kindling. The bigger bits won’t be ready until the end of the following year but it’s a worthwhile job done.
